About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire Service Emergency Responder to join their team. As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will play a critical role in responding to emergency incidents and promoting community safety and emergency preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team, ensuring the safety of people and property.
  • Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses provided by the QFES.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities, and ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
  • Support incident reporting and general station administration as required.

Requirements

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
  • Ability to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours.
  • Ability to obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment at own expense.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, including first aid/emergency care.

Benefits and Salary

This position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
