About the Role

The Assistant Principal will play a key role in supporting the Principal in leading the school's education program. This includes managing significant areas or functions within the school, ensuring the effective development, provision, and evaluation of the program.

The successful candidate will have a strong educational background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate staff and develop their talents. They will also have a clear capacity to foster a learning environment that takes account of individual student needs and helps students develop their special abilities and talents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of senior curriculum or level coordinators
  • Allocate budgets, positions of responsibility, and other resources within the area of responsibility
  • Supervise the delivery of teaching programs
  • Manage programs to improve the knowledge and experience of staff
  • Responsibility for general discipline matters beyond the management of classroom teachers and year level coordinators
  • Contribute to the overall management of the school
Requirements

The successful candidate will be appropriately qualified, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. They will also have a strong understanding of the school's strategic plan, policies, and budget.

A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment, and induction and support programs will be provided.
