We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school in Swindon. The successful candidate will work with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing individual and group support to children with SEMH needs
- Developing and delivering engaging learning activities tailored to each child's needs
- Collaborating with teachers and professionals to create individual education plans (IEPs)
- Encouraging positive behavior and providing emotional support
- Building strong relationships with children, parents, and staff members
- Monitoring and reporting on child progress, adjusting teaching methods as necessary
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children
- A good understanding of safeguarding procedures
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
This is a temporary role with the possibility of extension, requiring a candidate who is passionate about helping children with SEMH needs to achieve their full potential. If you have the necessary skills and experience, please apply with your CV and a covering letter.
