At Mineral Resources, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial reporting and accounting services to our business units across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the general ledger and sub-ledger for allocated business units.
  • Ensuring the Fixed Asset register is up-to-date, including timely capitalisations and disposals, and applying appropriate depreciation methods.
  • Working with Operations to deliver accurate and timely financial information and analysis.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial Team to ensure project finances align with commercial expectations.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and budget variance analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining Business Intelligence tools and dashboards to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Analyzing financial and operational drivers to identify areas for improvement.
  • Driving continuous improvement in management accounting, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Preparing budgets and periodic rolling forecasts as required.
  • Liaising with auditors to address queries during audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with monthly reporting timetables.
  • Providing support to the Corporate Finance Team as needed.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in Accounting.
  • Completed CA/CPA qualification.
  • Experience in a range of accounting activities, including general accounting, financial analysis, audit, and management reporting.
  • High-level competency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Experience working in operational finance, preferably in the mining or contracting services sector.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply it practically.
  • Excellent relationship-building, influencing, and negotiating skills.
