Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ). The successful candidate will work closely with a team of highly skilled and passionate veterinary professionals to provide high-quality care and support to animals in need.

Key Responsibilities: The Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for supporting veterinarians with routine examinations and consultations, preparing and implementing surgery schedules, providing veterinary nursing care and grief support to clients, assisting in radiography and surgical procedures, monitoring patient anesthesia and post-operative procedures, and nursing hospitalized animals. The successful candidate will also demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and empathy for community animal health and welfare issues.

Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will possess a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or recognized equivalent, minimum of 1+ years' vet nursing experience, experience in a busy, fast-paced work environment, and desired previous experience in a shelter/rescue environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage your own time effectively, strong attention to detail within deadlines, versatility, flexibility, and positivity.
