We are seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our team based predominantly in West Perth.
This role will provide engineering support to the Australia West Growth and Sustainability corporate team, as well as current operating sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimum, economic and safe extraction of elements and minerals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering support to the Australia West Growth and Sustainability corporate team and current operating sites.
- Ensure optimum, economic and safe extraction of elements and minerals.
- Implement mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and contractors.
- Contribute to the development of business strategies and plans.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical discipline at an open pit mining environment.
- Sound understanding of mine operation, drill & blast, planning and scheduling.
- Thorough understanding of open cut mining methods.
- Strong understanding of the costs associated with mine planning and drill & blast activities.
- Ability to implement mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site.
- Strong mining software experience (Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine, Minesight, etc) as well as the Microsoft office suite.
- Able to demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed HSE goals in support of the department, site and company standards.
- Well-developed analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience preferred in Project management and/or Salesforce Administration.
- Tertiary qualification in Economics, Business or Science Engineering or a related field.
- Mining experience would be a preferred.
- Advanced skills in MS Office 365 software.
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, best practices and functionality.
- Ability to design and implement new processes on the Salesforce platform and facilitate user adoption.
- Good understanding of governance principles.
- Good understanding of contract law and contracting processes.
