Senior Windows Desktop Specialist

This is a senior role that requires experience with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise, Windows 11, and Group Policy management. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and providing level 3 support for Standard Operating Environments (SOE), enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, remote access solutions, and package and deploy applications across supported environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing automated patching and update processes, providing expert technical advice, resolving complex technical issues, collaborating with infrastructure, security, and application teams, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain, and provide level 3 support for SOE, enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, and remote access solutions.
  • Package and deploy applications across supported environments.
  • Manage automated patching and update processes.
  • Provide expert technical advice and represent the team in ICT governance and management forums.
  • Resolve complex technical issues escalated from service desk and level 2 support teams.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure smooth integration and policy compliance.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to ongoing service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (M365 ProPlus).
  • Expert-level proficiency in Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, and Group Policy management.
  • Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) using Intune.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and Intune, including SOE creation, application packaging, and patching.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD).
  • Familiarity with Australian Government ICT security frameworks, including ISM, Essential Eight, and ACSC hardening guidelines.
