We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Rio Tinto's Weipa Operations. As a key member of our Laboratory Team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely analytical services to support our core areas of Geology, Grade Control, Production, and Commercial.

• Engage in safe behaviors and practices by identifying hazards and implementing controls.
• Safely prepare and analyze samples using established standard procedures, ensuring quality practices are validated.
• Conduct planned maintenance and inspection of equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Contribute to the continual improvement of our Laboratory Quality Management System.
• Communicate analysis results to stakeholders in a timely manner to enable them to carry out their work.

• Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Techniques, or evidence of completing on-the-job training within a laboratory setting.
• Current and valid Driver's Licence.
• Aptitude for quality and precision.
• Ability to accomplish tasks within tight timeframes.
• Good computer skills with fluency in MS Office applications.
• A team player with the ability to work well autonomously.
