Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Medicine Specialist to join our team at JPS Medical Recruitment. As a Medical Registrar, you will play a crucial role in supporting staff specialists and senior medical personnel in overseeing the care of patients with acute and urgent medical conditions and injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional General Medical service by adhering to evidence-based medicine and best practices.
  • Support staff specialists and senior medical personnel in overseeing patient care.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities within the department under exceptional circumstances, as determined by the Clinical Director.
  • Work a shift-based roster, in accordance with the unit's requirements.
About the Facility

Our 305-bed facility is a main referral hospital for Central Queensland, boasting state-of-the-art medical equipment and a strong emphasis on training and professional development. We have recently gained accreditation for training in Emergency, General Surgery, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Psychiatry.

Requirements
  • MBBS and current general registration with AHPRA (preferred).
  • Minimum two years' practice within the Australian healthcare system (preferred).
  • Experience and qualifications in General Medicine (preferred).

If you have obtained your qualifications overseas, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.
  • Evidence of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.
  • Evidence of successful completion of the AMC MCQ (part 1) examination.
  • Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
