Statutory Oversight Officer

Job Summary
The Statutory Oversight team at Comcare (Australian Government) is responsible for providing expert advice on the application of statutory processes to business areas within the organization. The team acts as Comcare's liaison with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a case load of various requests, including processing routine Freedom of Information requests, undertaking routine privacy matters, and processing requests for claim information under the SRC Act.
- Undertake quality assurance across a range of matters for the team, ensuring work complies with internal and external policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assist the team, Assistant Director, and Director with ad-hoc matters and administration tasks.
Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment
- Character clearance (police records check).
- Health clearance.
- Six months probationary period for new engagements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance (for APS Level 5 only).
Requirements
- Relevant skills and experience in statutory oversight, freedom of information, and privacy.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide expert advice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
