Job Title: Senior Research Manager

Gaming and Liquor advises the Minister on liquor and gambling legislation and regulation, addressing current and emerging issues.

The business unit delivers the Victorian Government's response to liquor and gambling issues and develops policy on licensing processes.

About the Role:

The Senior Research Manager leads a team within the Knowledge branch of Gaming and Liquor, working closely with the Director and other colleagues.

This role supports strategic matters and projects across the business unit, applying a public health framework to address gambling harm.

Responsibilities include leading research specialists to build the evidence base for responses to gambling harm, overseeing funding streams for research and evaluation, and collaborating with colleagues to translate knowledge into practice.

  • A record of achievement in strategic development and management of a research function in an academic or government context.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging with academics, evaluators, and other professionals.

Requirements:

To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in research methodology or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in research management and team leadership.
