Transforming Breaks: An Opportunity in Electrical Engineering and Geology

Located in the heart of Queensland's Bowen Basin, Foxleigh Mine has proudly operated since 1999, producing high-quality low-volatile PCI coal for the international steelmaking market.
We are looking for motivated and curious university students to join our vacation program in Electrical Engineering and Geology.
Over your two-month placement during the university break, you will work side-by-side with experienced engineers, geologists, and operational leaders, gaining hands-on exposure to our open-cut coal operation from pit to port.
Our team values fresh perspectives from the next generation of professionals, offering a supportive environment where you can build professional networks and gain practical skills, industry insight, and a genuine understanding of mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of electrical engineering and geological projects
- Conduct fieldwork and data analysis to inform decision-making
- Develop skills in problem-solving, communication, and teamwork
- Gain experience with industry-standard software and equipment
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering or related degree
- Confidence in communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to working safely
- Openness to learning and stepping outside your comfort zone
