Job Description

As a Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of capital works, maintenance programs, and infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders, lead a motivated team, and bring innovative ideas to life – making a real impact on the community and the region’s future.

Your day will be filled with managing contracts, optimising resources, delivering high-quality outcomes on time and budget, and providing expert advice to shape strategic decisions. You will project and contract management, preparing, supervising, and administering contracts to ensure compliance with Australian Standards and best practice.

In addition, you will provide technical oversight, offering specialist engineering advice, reviewing designs, and supporting decision-making on complex infrastructure projects. You will contribute to departmental strategy, long-term planning, and efficient allocation of staff, plant, and financial resources.

You will also implement and maintain quality control systems, ensuring projects meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. Your excellent stakeholder and team leadership skills will enable you to liaise with internal teams, consultants, government departments, and the community while fostering a high-performing, collaborative work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • AQF Level 7 (or above) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications
  • Significant experience in maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational ability, including planning, WHS, human resource management, financial management, and problem analysis/resolution
