Financial Strategist

We seek a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our Financial Services team.

This is not your traditional accounting role – we're looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of financial strategy, systems innovation, and business improvement.

• As a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, you'll:

• Deliver high-level financial analysis and insights that drive strategic planning.
• Build interactive dashboards and visual reporting tools to inform business decisions.
• Partner with directorates to optimise budget outcomes and guide long-term financial planning.
• Play a hands-on role in the development, testing, and implementation of ERP systems.
• Lead initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting systems, and work practices.
• Train and support colleagues and Councillors in financial management and corporate systems.

• CPA or CA membership and tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business.
• At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a complex or government environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – you can translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, plus experience with BI tools and ERP systems.
