Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation Maintenance Professional to join our team as a Maintenance Manager (Flight Operations Support) in our RAAF Base Townsville location.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in the coordination of maintenance of Boeing AH-64 Apache systems and associated equipment. You will work closely with our Australian Defence Force Customer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and technical skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-tempo operating environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team of maintenance professionals to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of Boeing AH-64 Apache systems and associated equipment.
  • Work closely with our Australian Defence Force Customer to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Manage the flying aircraft by coordinating the aircraft replenishment and maintenance, in support of the flying program.
  • Attend maintenance operational planning meetings and set priorities for the daily maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure all line maintenance requirements are pushed in the aircraft maintenance management system.
  • Release aircraft to operator complying with the Maintenance Organisation Release and Dispatch to Operator functions.
  • Provide technical assistance to aircrew in relation to aircraft acceptance and release.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Test Flight (MTF) activities.
  • Manage aircraft Rate of Effort (ROE) to ensure aircraft meet their respective maintenance plans.
  • Monitor the flight line for safe operations during fueling and flying operations.
  • Invoke the Emergency Response Plan as required.
  • Coordinate and assist aircraft movements.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in maintenance coordination or a similar role with aviation.
  • Previous experience working with maintenance management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-tempo operating environment.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Experience working in a safety-critical environment.
  • Ability to obtain a 'NV1' Security clearance.
