About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to fill the role of Area Manager, leading our team in delivering exceptional services to rural communities.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in emergency management, with expertise in coordinating responses to large-scale incidents. They will be responsible for managing human and physical resources, ensuring seamless support to volunteers and brigades, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the execution of regional strategic plans to enhance service delivery and protect local communities from bushfires and other emergencies.
  • Managing organisational change programs through regular consultation and discussion with staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to ensure reform initiatives are embedded effectively.
  • Undertaking the role of Chief Fire Warden for the area and working closely with the Bushfire Mitigation Manager to support prescribed burns and the Permit to Light System.
  • Maintaining operational awareness and oversight for the area, responding to large-scale rural fires and other emergency incidents as required.
  • Managing human and physical resources to ensure operational capacity and capability within the area, including readiness to support activities across the district and region.
