Role Overview

A CNC Machinist plays a pivotal role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring precision and quality in every task.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Machining tasks on CNC and manual machines with high accuracy
  • Collaborating with the operations team to drive productivity and efficiency
  • Training and supporting apprentices and shop personnel in their development
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures
  • Accurately maintaining records of job cards, repair, and inspection documentation, as well as quality reports
  • Engaging in continuous training and upskilling to meet client requirements
  • Contributing to business growth through diversification of clients and projects
  • Promptly reporting machine or equipment faults to the Operations Team
  • Maintaining gauges, measuring equipment, and tools in optimal condition
  • Working flexible shifts as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Trade qualification with at least 5 years' experience in operating and programming CNC and manual machines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • Knowledge of steel grades and machining characteristics
  • Effective communication skills for working with customers, suppliers, and colleagues
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
  • A flexible and customer-focused approach with adaptability and commitment to quality
