Job Title: Senior Process Development Engineer

This role is suitable for a senior process engineer with extensive technical experience in chemical/process engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide expert guidance and manage the development of processes through all engineering phases from concept to detailed design and delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Manage single-discipline projects effectively.
  • Prepare technical reports as required.
  • Develop proposals and tenders for new and ongoing works, including hours estimation and scope definition.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Foster new business relationships and leverage existing connections to promote our process offerings and drive opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in process engineering (or equivalent) with 15+ years of experience in process design in the oil and gas industry.
  • CPEng or CEng/RPEQ registration.
  • Proficient in using Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, UniSim, and DNV PHAST software packages.
  • In-depth knowledge of process safety, including risk identification and assessment through HAZID/HAZOP, dispersion/radiation analysis, and hazardous area classification.
  • Skills in preparing PFD's, P&ID's, heat and material balances, instruments and equipment data sheets, utilities flow diagrams, and chemical consumption/effluent summaries.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Ability to provide technical support throughout the full lifecycle of projects, from feasibility studies to commissioning.
  • Flexibility, autonomy, and ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • A confident communicator and team player with the ability to drive project success.
  • Highly skilled in mentoring junior engineers and creating a positive working environment.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines by prioritization.
  • Experience as a HAZOP / LOPA facilitator is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and international standards.
  • A mix of consulting and operational experience would be beneficial.
