Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Merchandise Stocker to join our team at Costco North Lakes in Brisbane. As a Merchandise Stocker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a well-stocked and organized warehouse, ensuring that our members have access to a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zones.
  • Follows merchandising standards and practices, aligning product, collecting and returning stray items, and stocking to maintain high product levels.
  • Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plans and priorities, writing lists of products to be brought from steel by forklift drivers for stocking.
  • Stocks opened cases on shelves, moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jacks, and stacks product from partial pallets to full pallets.
  • Uses box knives to cut boxes for display and accessibility of product, and to cut twine or shrink wrap from pallets. Wraps or ties and tags pallets to be returned to steel.
  • Marks product numbers on unmarked items using marking guns and observes and ensures correct product signage.
  • Sets up display models, assembling as necessary, and modifies displays for safe handling by members, e.g., bolting heavy equipment and taping blade edges. Follows all safety and security procedures.
  • Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from the floor, clears sales floors of debris, and sweeps. Removes empty pallets from the sales floor, operates cardboard balers and trash compactors, and rewraps loose product using shrink-wrap machines.
  • Provides prompt and courteous member service, helping members to load large items into their carts, directing members to products, and relating product status knowledge.
  • This position includes repetitive movements, heavy lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Assists with front-end duties as necessary.
  • Assists other areas in the department as necessary.
  • Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
  • Creates computer-generated signs.

Requirements:

  • Must be available to start at 2pm and work to 11pm.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
