About the Role

Occulus International is seeking a seasoned Procurement Director to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our procurement strategy. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our procurement efforts and ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of business ethics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Align our procurement unit's contributions with our corporate strategic plan, budgets, and risk management to ensure effective delivery on organizational goals.
  • Tendering and Contract Negotiations: Lead tendering and contract negotiations to ensure all contracts comply with relevant legislation and are effectively managed and performing well.
  • Contract Management: Implement contract management processes to optimize relationships with approved contractors and deliver maximum value across the organization.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Drive the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to support key suppliers and maximize their contribution to organizational goals.
  • Governance and Compliance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks to monitor procurement performance, ensuring compliance with policies, risk management, and the realization of business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the procurement team, setting clear objectives, roles, and responsibilities, and driving high performance through effective leadership and feedback.
  • Market Intelligence: Exchange market intelligence and benchmarking information to continually improve the effectiveness and quality of procurement activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identify and proactively manage stakeholder relationships, representing the organization in resolving complex or sensitive issues with contractors.
  • WHS and Compliance: Ensure the organization maintains a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to WHS policies, and providing necessary training and supervision to all team members.
  • Project Management: Promote and implement project management principles in procurement activities to enhance efficiency, innovation, and strategic value delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Degree in procurement, supply chain management, business management, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Membership: Membership in a professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or World Commerce & Contracting (WCC) is desirable.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading Contract and Category Management teams.
  • Commercial Skills: Well-developed commercial skills, including business planning, target setting, and measurement, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Procurement Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of leading procurement principles and practices, including category management, strategic sourcing, contract administration, and managing complex RFT processes.
  • Project Management: Advanced project management skills with a history of successful project execution.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex procurement challenges.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with Microsoft Project is advantageous.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, ability to build rapport and trust, and passion for meeting and connecting with people to produce results.
