Art and Design Technician: A Key Role in Educational Settings

Job Description:

This position plays a vital role in supporting the teaching staff and students in achieving their artistic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the needs of each studio area, including Ceramics, Printmaking, Fashion, Photography, Wood Technology, Art, Visual Communication, and Design
  • Provide technical support to teachers and students, including answering inquiries and maintaining borrowing records for equipment
  • Maintain classrooms, stack and unload kilns, and assist with administration tasks such as updating timetables and entering stock details into the system
  • Oversee Occupational Health and Safety practices, including MSDS records and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Requirements:
  • Highly competent in the use of technology
  • Ability to work well within a group setting and problem solve quickly and efficiently
  • Knowledgeable about a broad range of art form techniques and processes
  • A current Working with Children Check and Police Check
