We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to fill the role of Head of English at our prestigious school. As an integral member of our staff, you will play a crucial part in shaping the educational journey of our students.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position commencing Term 1 2025. You will be responsible for leading our English department, driving curriculum development, and implementing effective teaching practices. Your passion for English, leadership skills, and ability to inspire secondary age students make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the English department, fostering a collaborative environment among teachers and promoting best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the Australian Curriculum and IB syllabus.
  • Mentor and support teachers to enhance their pedagogical skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure a holistic education for our students.
  • Contribute to the school's mission, values, and ethos by demonstrating Christian principles in your work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in English education, preferably with experience in leadership positions.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate students, foster a love for learning, and develop critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with technology integration in the classroom and a willingness to embrace new tools and approaches.
  • Knowledge of recent developments in senior secondary pedagogy and its application in English teaching.
