Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team at Costco North Lakes in Brisbane. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and ensuring the highest quality of meat products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous service to members, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Meat Preparation: Inspect and reassemble equipment, rework display cases, and rotate product to meet daily production needs.
  • Meat Cutting and Trimming: Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications using band saws and knives, operate tenderizing machines, and follow safety and security procedures.
  • Meat Mincing and Wrapping: Operate meat mincers, dump meat into machines, and check fat content of each batch. Assist with wrapping and stocking meat cases according to the Meat Manager's plan.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize areas throughout the day, including coolrooms, to comply with health regulations and maintain proper temperatures.
  • Maintenance and Inventory: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, and assist with monthly stocktakes (inventory).
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education/Training: Completed Apprenticeship/Trade School preferred.
  • Experience: Must be a fully qualified Butcher.
