The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) is currently seeking Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) to join their Craniofacial Surgery services.

These VMOs will be allocated 240 hours annually at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. The position requires a Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Craniofacial Surgery) or overseas trained specialist pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide leadership of a team and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • To contribute to clinical workload, participate in an on-call roster for paediatric plastic surgery and paediatric craniofacial surgery, and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
  • To have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.

VMOs are expected to have experience in endoscopic assisted strip craniectomy for the treatment of craniosynostosis, post FRACS clinical fellowship in paediatric craniofacial surgery with a minimum of 12 months, recent clinical paediatric plastic surgery and paediatric craniofacial surgery services.

This position requires registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Craniofacial Surgery).
