Job Description

The Department of Justice QLD is seeking a skilled and experienced Administrative Support Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the Coronial Services team, you will provide administrative and case management support to ensure the efficient delivery of services to coroners, families, witnesses, court users, and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for communicating with and delivering services to various parties, operating in a dynamic and sensitive environment. Your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities will enable you to excel in this role.

In addition to your administrative duties, you will assist in preparing and maintaining files, data entry, and using office equipment. You will also have the opportunity to train and assist other team members, build positive relationships, and contribute to the accomplishment of team goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support in a busy registry setting, including receiving reports of death, creating case files, and opening incoming correspondence.
  • Prepare standard correspondence, court forms, and documents, such as autopsy orders and coronial findings.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, and perform general maintenance tasks.
  • Organise appointments and meetings, and use a range of office equipment, including a case management database.
  • Train and assist other team members, and communicate effectively with sensitivity, tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
