About the Role

Mercy Community Family and Child Connect (FaCC) program has an opportunity for a motivated and passionate professional to join our team in Townsville.

This is a Permanent, Full-time position that involves delivering quality services to children, young people, families, and the community within the Family and Child Connect Service through assessment and recommendation of culturally appropriate responses.

  • Assessing information provided in a referral, engaging with families with multiple and complex needs, and providing information, advice, and referrals.
  • Engaging with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities.
  • Collaborating to foster a positive team culture that values cultural diversity and equity.

About You

The successful applicant will possess:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Experience in strengths-based casework with complex families, alongside experience in identifying and addressing child protection concerns.
  • Experience in assessing the needs of families and completing safety and risk assessments.
  • A current and valid Queensland Provisional Green (P2) or above Driver Licence.
  • A current and valid Blue Card (Queensland Working With Children Check) or the ability to apply.
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain.
