Role Summary
The State Government of Victoria, Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Learning Specialist to join our team. As a Learning Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting excellence in teaching and learning within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Exemplary Practice: Demonstrate high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice, and model exemplary classroom practice through teaching demonstration lessons.
- Develop and Implement Improvement Strategies: Work with the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice, and lead and model the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
- Provide Professional Learning: Provide evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development, and provide expert advice about the context, processes, and strategies that will shape individual and school professional learning.
- Supervise and Train: Supervise and train one or more student teachers, and mentor and/or coach teachers to improve their practice.
- Develop and Promote Professional Learning Structures: Develop and promote school-wide professional learning structures, processes, and protocols through Professional Learning Communities.
Requirements
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching: Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Curriculum Expertise: Have demonstrated expertise in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to engage in collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
