The Driver Academy for Women is a program designed to address the underrepresentation of women in the waste management industry. The academy aims to promote equality of opportunity and remove barriers that prevent women from participating.

Participants will undergo a 5-week paid training program, covering the cost of obtaining a Heavy Vehicle Licence Open (HR) Manual, Dangerous Goods Licence & EPA certification if required, uniforms and PPE, and training to become a driver. The program also provides ongoing learning and support for the next 12 months.

  • A valid current unrestricted driver's licence is required, with a minimum of 24 months' experience.
  • Driving History Check with a minimum of 8 demerit points remaining.
  • No prior heavy vehicle driving experience is necessary.
  • Candidates must be passionate about working as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • A commitment to safety and a willingness to learn and work as part of a team are vital.
  • Resilience is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities

As a Multi-System Operator, key responsibilities include:

  • Operating collection vehicles.
  • Performing loading and unloading duties of waste products.
  • Delivering loads to nominated disposal facilities.
  • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service delivery.
  • Ensuring the presentation of the vehicle, both inside and out, is of the highest standard.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and heights.
