Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class STEM College at a university with strong industry connections and a global outlook.

As Lead Professor in Construction Management, you will provide academic leadership and drive excellence in teaching and research within the School, the University, and across professional, commercial and industry sectors.

Your focus will be on construction management, digital transformation in construction, and building engineering.

You will deliver original and innovative contributions that advance the School's scholarly, research and professional capabilities at both national and international levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directing an award program/s and implementing program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs.
  • Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in high quality outlets and emerging international recognition in construction management, digital transformation in construction, and building engineering.
  • Extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
  • Supervising higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.
  • Leading scholarly development and managing and supervising academic teams and members.
  • Understanding and commitment to financial, governance and quality management systems within a university.
  • High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to consult with senior executives, produce executive reports, negotiate agreed directions, outcomes and targets within a collaborative environment.
  • Effectively contributing as a member of a management team that develops and achieves shared goals and objectives.
Requirements

A nationally recognised research track record, including substantial records of research outputs in high-quality outlets, and emerging international recognition in construction management, digital transformation in construction, and building engineering.

Extensive experience in research leadership, with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high-quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, manage funded research projects, including complex budgets and reporting requirements.

Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates to maximise research performance.

Strong understanding of and commitment to financial, governance, and quality management systems within a university.
