A leading software organisation is seeking a senior IT leader to manage their Architecture function. The role will have combined responsibilities for people management of a small team and individual contribution to the overall architecture blueprint and roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Engage closely with business stakeholders to grasp their needs and motivations, analyzing how these affect their current technology setups and ongoing projects, and craft appropriate responses.
  2. Work alongside business analysts and engineers to devise potential solutions, make informed choices, and uphold essential architectural documentation.
  3. Create and manage a target state architecture and establish a roadmap to reach it, taking into account organisational constraints and priorities.
  4. Ensure that the envisioned architecture is clearly communicated and embraced, aligning seamlessly with both business and technology strategies. This involves guiding projects to adhere to the desired architectural direction.
  5. Present comprehensive or detailed architectural perspectives and documents to various stakeholders within business and technology circles.
  6. Establish strong connections with critical business and technology stakeholders and collaboratively steer the course.
  7. Take charge of a team of Architects, providing guidance and technical leadership, and facilitate the development of staff skills in emerging technologies.

Requirements

  1. Leadership Skills: Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead through collaboration.
  2. Demonstrable experience in designing, securing, and implementing large scale solutions.
  3. Proven proficiency and hands-on experience in architectural methodologies and practices.
  4. Proficiency in developing applications utilizing cloud-native technologies, preferably across multiple cloud platforms.
  5. Experience in the architecture and design of event-driven systems, different methods of service and system integration (APIs, streams, etc).
  6. Experience architecting digital platforms for customers and employees, including UI and UX considerations.
  7. Capable of collaborating with engineers and skilled in programming.
