Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Mine Captain to join our team at Glencore. As a key member of our mining operations, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of mining professionals to achieve safe and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of mining professionals to achieve safe and efficient production
  • Develop and implement mine plans to meet production targets and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Collaborate with operations supervisors to identify and address operational bottlenecks and improve efficiency
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to operational supervisors to enhance their leadership and operational skills
  • Assist with margin improvement initiatives to optimize production costs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in underground hard rock mining operations with a strong background in mine planning and management
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret mine plans and prioritize tasks
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, and codes of practice
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
