As a Mechanical Fitting Apprentice, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople and develop your skills in mechanical fitting.

You will assist with the assembly and disassembly of underground mining material handling equipment, including gearboxes, drive lines, winching systems, hydraulic power packs, and other hydraulic-driven machinery.

In addition, you will support the maintenance and servicing of both fixed and mobile plant equipment on-site.

You will be responsible for completing maintenance schedule reports and documentation for inspected or repaired equipment.

Your duties will also include carrying out ancillary tasks, such as minor painting, steam cleaning, and workshop duties.

You will work to complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes and follow tolerance assembly procedures, with proper documentation in job cards where required.

Upon successful completion, you will gain a Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting) and real-world experience in a dynamic, industrial environment.

Ongoing support and mentorship from qualified tradespeople will also be provided.

This apprenticeship offers a solid foundation for a long-term career in the mining and heavy equipment industry.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have completed Year 10 (minimum) and have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing.

A willingness to learn and grow within the role, as well as the ability to take direction and follow instructions effectively, are essential qualities for this position.

You should also possess a proactive attitude and the ability to show initiative, as well as a commitment to attend all required TAFE classes as part of the apprenticeship.
