About the SAFV Centre
The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre (The SAFV Centre) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting communities across Victoria since 1978. Following a merger in 2016, The SAFV Centre has grown into a highly professional service offering free and confidential support to adults, children, and young people who have experienced sexual assault or family violence.
Our organisation is underpinned by feminist philosophy and strives to create a society that values gender equality, social justice, and human rights. We envision a community free from sexual assault and family violence.
Role Overview
We are seeking four Non-Executive Directors with diverse experience across various areas to join our Board of Directors. As a Director, you will provide strategic leadership and contribute your expertise in governance, risk management, finance, compliance, public relations, and stakeholder engagement.
You will be required to possess a visionary mindset, apply business acumen through sound governance principles, and commit your time and capabilities to enhance the impact of our work in the communities we serve. Remuneration for this role is $10,000 (including super) per annum.
About the Role
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Board
- Contribute your expertise in corporate governance, executive-level leadership, strategic risk management, audit, financial management, compliance, and public relations
- Maintain a strong understanding of for-purpose organisational governance requirements
- Prioritise commitment to enhancing the impact of our work in the communities we serve
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in corporate governance and executive-level leadership
- Strategic risk management and audit expertise
- Financial management skills with CPA qualifications
- Compliance and legal obligations knowledge with legal qualifications
- Public relations and stakeholder engagement experience
- A deep understanding of for-purpose organisational governance requirements
