Job Opportunity: Extension Officer

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Extension Officer. This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of extension.

• Work within the DPI's Extensive Livestock Systems extension team to deliver capacity building and adoption programs for beef producers in north Queensland.
• Develop and execute grazing land management, animal production, and beef business extension activities using the Extension Model of Practice.
• Build relationships with producers and industry stakeholders through various extension methodologies, including one-on-one support, peer-to-peer groups, workshops, field days, and eExtension.
• Respond to producers' needs and work with them to identify opportunities to improve their feedbase productivity and resilience by supporting the adoption of best practices.
• Contribute written materials, such as case studies, newsletter articles, and social media posts, to established eExtension networks.
• Participate in field-based demonstration sites on commercial beef properties and government research facilities.
