Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Support Professional to join our team as a Disability Care Worker.

This role involves providing personalized support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their overall quality of life.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support clients with daily living tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation as required.
  • Accompany clients to community activities, social outings, and recreational events to promote inclusion and engagement.
  • Implement behavior support strategies and manage challenging behaviors in line with individual behavior support plans.
  • Encourage clients to develop life skills such as communication, self-care, and social interaction.
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to appointments, activities, and outings.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and activities in line with NDIS requirements and organizational policies.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications:
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or related field
  • Experience:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and intellectual disabilities, including behavior management strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to manage challenging behaviors calmly
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills

Certifications:

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (if transport is required)
