Records Management Specialist

About the Role:
Troocoo is currently assisting a large Queensland State Government Department in recruiting a Records Management Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the appraisal, sentencing, and transfer of large volumes of physical departmental records to the State Archives, in compliance with Queensland State Archives approved Schedules and relevant Departmental policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-level administrative support to the project team. The role will be located in the Brisbane CBD, Queensland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in major programs at a state-wide level, operating within broad policy guidelines, with responsibility for a service-wide function, including but not limited to:
- Appraisal, sentencing, and transfer of large volumes of physical departmental records received from school environments for processing by the Enterprise Information Services team.
- Providing accurate advice to administrative staff regarding the identification of records for transfer to Queensland State Archives for permanent retention.
- Accurate interpretation of authorised retention and disposal schedules.
- Undertaking required project activities, including providing progress reports, identifying risks, liaising with project management and information management staff, and acting as the accountable senior archivist in supporting staff to prepare and dispose of records.
About You:
- Previous experience in records management within a large team.
- Government experience is highly regarded.
- Ability to provide high-quality administrative support with strong attention to detail.
- Government systems experience across correspondence.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage work priorities.
