Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and services by implementing effective quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaison Role: Act as a liaison between various departments to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with product standards.
  2. Analytical Skills: Analyze and identify root causes of nonconforming products, providing a deep understanding of underlying issues to facilitate resolution.
  3. Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering and other stakeholders to implement corrective and preventive actions that address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  4. Quality Improvement: Ensure corrective actions resolve immediate NCRs and contribute to long-term quality improvements across processes and products.
  5. Supplier Management: Effectively communicate quality requirements to suppliers, ensuring clear understanding and adherence to NOV's standards.
  6. Training: Provide targeted training to suppliers if necessary, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to deliver consistently high-quality parts.
  7. Inspection: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of components, raw materials, and finished goods during the manufacturing process or upon receipt in accordance with drawings, purchase orders and standards.
  8. Acceptance/Rejection: Make accept/reject decisions on inspected products and suggest corrective actions when necessary.
  9. Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, maintain files of inspection documents, and review inspection records and material test reports for compliance.
  10. Maintenance: Maintain inspection and measuring equipment, ensuring they are properly calibrated and functional.
  11. NCR Management: Create and manage detailed Non-Conformance Reports for nonconforming parts, overseeing the entire nonconformity process from opening to closure.
  12. Calibration: Follow calibration requirements and processes for NOV's inspection tools and equipment, ensuring ongoing maintenance and compliance.
  13. Additional Tasks: Perform additional quality-related tasks as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Equivalent Experience: Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 Years' Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as quality inspector or engineer.
  • GD&T Certification: GD&T certification is a plus.
