About Us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is a jurisdiction within the judicial system, boasting a rich history of delivering justice to Victorians in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
We determine over 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, accounting for approximately 90 percent of all cases before Victorian courts each year. Our goal is to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court providing exceptional services to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of administrative tasks throughout our registries in Victoria, including in-court duties, client-contact inquiries, and back-office responsibilities.
- Exercise powers conferred under the Magistrates' Court Act 1989 and other legislation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the judiciary, law enforcement, prosecutors, legal practitioners, and members of the public.
- Operate relevant computer systems, such as casemanagement systems and other technologies.
- Assist with the direction, supervision, and training of staff.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced understanding of our protocols and procedures.
- Well-developed team leadership experience.
