Open Pit Mine Geology Role

As a seasoned Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for all aspects of open pit production activities.

This role entails designing grade control drilling programs for short and medium-term planning requirements, scheduling and coordinating grade control drilling activities, ensuring a high level of safety and sample QAQC.

You will also be involved in geological mapping and interpretation, interpreting, validating, and analyzing QAQC data related to drilling, sampling, and assaying, ensuring high-quality sampling and lab protocols.

Additionally, you will produce high-quality grade control models using conditional simulation techniques, coordinate and interpret blast movement through BMT technology, contribute to short and medium-term mining schedules and coordination of material movement and crusher feed with Mining Alliance partners.

Key responsibilities include stockpile management, mine-to-mill, and resource reconciliations as well as contributing to continuous improvement of the operation by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology.
  • Prior experience in open pit mine geology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • A high degree of organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • A strong grasp of mining geology, including gold sampling and assaying, geological interpretation, grade modeling, and open-cut mining methods.
  • Proficiency in Vulcan, Datashed, and MP3 estimation software or equivalent software.
  • A current manual Western Australian 'C' class drivers license.
  • Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship (Mandatory).
  • A National Police Clearance.
