Rural Doctor Opportunity in Far North Queensland

The opportunity to work in a remote coastal community has become available for an experienced rural Doctor.
Based in the Cape York Peninsula of far north Queensland, this is a unique chance to experience the community spirit at the top of Australia. Working with a fantastic team of nursing staff and fellow Doctors, you will work day shifts 8am to 4:30pm with out of hours ED on-call usually twice per week.
Opportunities for GPs with ED are also available, making this a great role for those looking to expand their skills and experience.
The ED sees 20-30 patients in a 24 hour period on average, providing a varied and interesting range of presentations. With great nursing support and typically a junior doctor (PGY2 or 3) allocated as well, this is an awesome place to work according to previous locum Doctors in Weipa.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be an experienced rural Doctor who is used to working in remote communities. Specialist AHPRA registration and recent ED experience and certification (ALS2 or equivalent) are essential. Advanced skills in obstetrics are highly desirable.
A competitive salary package is available for this role, estimated at $2600-$2800 per day depending on qualifications and experience.
