We are seeking a skilled GIS Specialist to join our team in revolutionizing agriculture and addressing climate change. The ideal candidate will have expertise in automating GIS workflows using Python (ArcPy, GeoPandas) and experience with AGOL administration.

As a GIS Specialist, you will design and improve GIS-based tools to streamline workflows, undertake GIS mapping for carbon project boundaries, and manage geospatial data. You will also contribute to audit and offset report requirements, develop AU mapping process improvement & documentation, and provide administrative & team support.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in GIS, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3-4 years experience in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data management is required.

Familiarity with carbon project methodologies, preferably under the ERF, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and improve GIS-based tools to streamline workflows with a strong emphasis on automation.
  • Undertake GIS mapping for carbon project boundaries, defining project boundaries, conducting mapping variations and restratification in line with soil carbon sequestration protocols.
  • Manage geospatial data, store and label Carbon Project GIS data (geodatabases and related data) in a consistent and secure manner.
  • Contribute to audit and offset report requirements, preparing required GIS data for auditing and soil carbon credit issuance.
  • Develop AU mapping process improvement & documentation, maintaining SOPs, improving GIS workflows, and ensuring detailed tracking of project data.
  • Provide administrative & team support, assisting with mapping components of project registration, in-field soil sampling, compliance, and coordination.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in GIS, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data management.
  • Expertise in automating GIS workflows using Python (ArcPy, GeoPandas).
  • Familiarity with carbon project methodologies, preferably under the ERF.
