About This Opportunity

A new role has become available as the Assistant Security Operations Officer in Government Technology Platforms; part of Digital NSW and the Department of Customer Service. Our aim is to be the state's trusted partner to enable accessible and secure digital platforms and services for the citizens and businesses of NSW.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing a broad range of security operations administrative and support services. You will work collaboratively with multiple enabling and agile delivery teams to ensure all government platforms, products, and services remain stable and secure. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and actioning inbound tickets and emails received in the team shared mailbox
  • Creating reporting and updating documentation to support the security operations function
  • General involvement supporting a range of security operations areas including vulnerability management, user access requests and reviews, monitoring, and internal systems audit
  • Providing support to senior members of the team as required

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in providing cyber security and operations support in a complex environment
  • Drive and passion for all things digital and security to maintain currency in industry trends
  • Proven experience in resolving complex SecOps/Cyber enquiries to ensure accurate information and timely issue resolution
  • Experience in coordinating and managing records and databases to ensure accuracy, proper storage, and accessibility in compliance with administrative systems and policies
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring office systems and procedures to ensure efficient operations in compliance with agency standards and policies
  • Experience in gathering and collating information, preparing performance reports, and updating administrative systems to enhance efficiency, cost management, and service delivery
