Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the Operational Risk support function for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Commonwealth Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist Operational Risk advice, assurance, and acceptance/approval of decisions made by Line 1 Technology.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to oversee the Operational Risk management framework in support of CPS 220 and CPS230. You will lead a team of professional SMEs to provide independent, pragmatic, and value-adding Ops Risk advice, assurance, and approval/acceptance for CTO risks across the portfolio including subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building and managing a team of professionals to provide Ops Risk advice, assurance, and approval/acceptance for CTO risks.
  • Advising on the implementation of 3LoA and delivery of all elements of the Risk Management Approach and Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Leading the oversight and monitoring of existing and emerging CTO risks, controls, issues, and incidents.
  • Ensuring the appropriate identification, escalation, and reporting of related CTO matters to stakeholders.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An advanced skill base in Engineering or Architecture, End user experience, and networks and hosting.
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity, link risks to business strategy, and stay across external trends.
  • Experience as a leader who understands operational risk management practices and can influence and engage pragmatically as a trusted but independent partner.
  • High-quality written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • A continuous learning and improvement mindset.
About the Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 AUD based on national averages and industry standards.
