The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Prestons-based manufacturing facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with production teams to ensure required equipment is available and in good working condition.
  • Install and commission new machinery to meet production demands.
  • Collaborate with production staff to complete technical aspects of machine settings.
  • Train manufacturing technicians in agreed skills to support or complete less complex technical tasks.
  • Plan and coordinate machine maintenance and setting activities to meet production targets.
  • Source spare parts and maintenance consumables as required.
  • Maintain a process for managing inventory of maintenance materials.
  • Ensure the highest possible standards of quality and service within the factory.
  • Consult with the Engineering and Facilities Manager for all technical-related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical trade qualifications.
  • Restricted electrical licence (desirable).
  • Working at heights certificate (desirable).
  • Confined space certificate (desirable).
  • Forklift licence (desirable).

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in maintenance and machine setting, preferably in a TGA/GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with machines in production processes.
  • Experience in managing situations with tight quality and efficiency parameters.
  • Experience with machine installation and commissioning.
  • Experience with mechanical fault finding.
  • Experience with machining, welding, and fabrication.
  • Basic use of Microsoft Office packages.
