Specialist Family Violence Practitioner

Are you a passionate and skilled professional looking to make a positive impact in the lives of women and children affected by family violence?

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our Rapid Response Team, providing critical support to women and their children when they need it most.

This is an opportunity to be part of a movement dedicated to safety, dignity, and empowerment. You will work directly with women and children experiencing or at risk of family violence, providing immediate responses, safety planning, crisis support, and referrals in both community settings and crisis accommodation.

Working from a feminist and trauma-informed perspective, you will walk alongside those in crisis, offering them hope, support, and a path forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to referrals and provide outreach support in community and crisis settings.
  • Conduct assessments, deliver crisis interventions, and develop collaborative case plans.
  • Connect clients with holistic, culturally appropriate services and community supports.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Advocate for client safety and well-being, while identifying service gaps for improvement.

You Will Successfully:

  • Have a tertiary qualification in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in family violence or child wellbeing work (highly desirable).
  • Have strong crisis intervention skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
  • Be able to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Have knowledge of family violence frameworks and child protection principles.
  • Commit to culturally safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Hold a current and valid Employee Working with Children's Check.
  • Hold a current full VIC Driver's Licence.
