**Electric Vehicle Policy Specialist


Job Description:

The role of the Electric Vehicle Policy Specialist is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of policies that support the transition to electric vehicles in Victoria. As part of our team, you will work closely with colleagues across various departments, industry stakeholders, and governments to address barriers to EV charging rollout and ensure convenient access to EV charging infrastructure.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering policies that align with the Victorian government's targets outlined in the Zero Emissions Vehicle Roadmap. This will involve collaborating with experts from various fields, including energy, public policy, economics, science, engineering, technology development, and relevant fields.

The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field and experience in government governance, public policy, or sustainable transport. A strong understanding of the energy sector, policy development, and stakeholder engagement is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver policies to address barriers to EV charging rollout and ensure convenient access to EV charging infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across DEECA and the Victorian Public Service, energy market bodies, industry stakeholders, and governments.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in energy, public policy, economics, science, engineering, technology development or relevant field is desired.
  • Experience in government governance, public policy or sustainable transport is an advantage.
