We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an electrical engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing protection schemes for HV/MV substations, transmission, and distribution networks.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards and WHS legislation, as well as the ability to stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and best practices.

The role involves

  • Designing and developing protection schemes for HV/MV substations, transmission, and distribution networks
  • Preparing and reviewing relay protection settings, logic diagrams, and scheme drawings in compliance with AS/NZS standards
  • Carrying out protection coordination studies, short circuit analysis, load flow, and stability studies using industry software (ETAP, PowerFactory, DigSILENT)
  • Developing detailed specifications for protective relays, CTs/VTs, circuit breakers, and associated control/protection panels
  • Liaising with utilities, EPC contractors, and OEMs for protection equipment selection and configuration
  • Preparing technical documentation including protection reports, single-line diagrams, and functional specifications
  • Supporting SCADA and communication system integration for protection and control systems
  • Providing technical input for tendering and project proposals, including equipment schedules and technical compliance matrices
  • Reviewing factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) procedures from a protection perspective, ensuring compliance with design intent
  • Conducting root cause analysis of protection system maloperations and recommending corrective measures
  • Ensuring designs incorporate WHS, isolation, and safe work requirements in protection schemes

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Willingness to travel to different project sites
