Medical Officer - Emergency Retrieval Team

This is a unique opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service, an organisation that has been supporting rural and remote communities since 1928. We are currently recruiting for Medical Officers to join our Emergency Retrieval team.

About the Role

The role of a Medical Officer in our Emergency Retrieval team involves participating in a rotating training program with placements in various sites across NSW, including Dubbo and Broken Hill. You will work closely with our experienced team to provide medical care to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a rotating training program with placements in various sites across NSW
  • Work closely with our experienced team to provide medical care to patients in need
  • Have a minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience and be at an advanced trainee level from one of the following colleges: CICM, ACEM, ANZCA, ACRRM (with JCCA/DRGA)
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience
  • Be at an advanced trainee level from one of the following colleges: CICM, ACEM, ANZCA, ACRRM (with JCCA/DRGA)
  • Have completed a minimum total of 18 months critical care time (ED and ICU) and 6 months anaesthetics
  • Experience in the management of critically ill patients, including trauma
  • Ideal candidates will also have completed ALS, APLS, ATLS (or equivalent) and recency of practice in a critical care environment
