Job Title: Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a support worker to assist participants in their daily life, providing support with daily living tasks, accessing the community and encouraging independence.

  1. Assist participants with daily living tasks such as personal care, household duties and meal preparation.
  2. Support participants to access the community through transportation and accompaniment to medical appointments and social activities.
  3. Encourage participants to make informed decisions and take control of their lives.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills. The position is casual and hours can vary.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Ability to provide high level of support to promote independence.
  • Capacity to communicate effectively with participants and other stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Carry out tasks as per participant's service delivery plan.
  2. Follow instructions and perform direct care duties for participants who require that support.
  3. Provide medication assistance including epilepsy and midazolam medication.
  4. Enhance or increase participants' physical and intellectual capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications not required but preferred.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and certification if required.
