About the Position

The General Medicine Registrar role at our institution offers a unique opportunity to engage in advanced training in General Medicine. As a registrar, you will be involved in a diverse range of roles and responsibilities aimed at meeting the training standards set by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in general medicine terms, as well as specialized rotations in areas such as infectious diseases, hospital in the home, and acute geriatrics.
  • Experience rotations at our hospital's two sites during an acute medicine term.
  • Have the option to pursue a streamlined program for dual training in geriatrics, designed to meet the essential criteria for both training programs.
About the Location

Our institution is located in a picturesque region, approximately 280 kilometers southwest of Sydney and 660 kilometers northeast of Melbourne. The area offers a high quality of life, clean environment, and well-maintained infrastructure, providing a balance between urban amenities and access to nature.

About the Facility

Our state-of-the-art facility is accredited for 2 years of advanced training by the Specialist Advisory Committee for General Medicine. With 265 beds and a multi-disciplinary approach, our facility commenced operations in 2017 and offers cutting-edge amenities to cater to the needs of the surrounding communities. We serve a diverse population, attending to the healthcare needs of over 11,000 individuals.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Be registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Be available for weekend and after-hours work.
  • Have computer literacy skills for Digital Health Record.
  • Hold an MBBS medical degree or equivalent.
  • Have success in FRACP part 1 (Written and Clinical) Examinations.
  • Hold current Basic Life Support skills and Advanced Life Support skills.
